One of the Human Resource challenges identified in the 2005 Workforce Solutions Industry Cluster Analysis was the lack of knowledge of our local (current and future) labor pool’s skill levels. Workforce Solutions did not have a comprehensive data base of labor pool talent, such as industry specific skill sets, universal skill sets, highest grade completed, and other relevant data needed to assist business relocation, expansion and retention decisions.

Workforce Solutions is working on creating this type a database by utilizing existing resources, such as WorkInTexas.com, the Workforce Information System of Texas (TWIST), Prove It! and SitesOnTexas databases, and other labor market tools. Access to the database will be available to contributing partners.

Currently, there are 15,344 job seekers in WorkInTexas.com who are actively seeking work in the three-county region. Almost 60% of those job seekers have a high school diploma/GED or greater.
